Vigilance is a core keyword ability that has appeared in many Magic sets.

Prior to Champions of Kamigawa, vigilance was not a keyword ability, but it had appeared in many previous cards.

Attacking doesn't cause a creature with vigilance to tap.

Multiple instances of vigilance in the same creature are redundant.
