Project:Style guidelines
From M:TG Archive, a library of Magic: The Gathering information
This page documents some basic style guidelines and conventions used on M:TG Archive. Feel free to add or improve on these.
- Brand names
- The first mention should use the full name of the game - Magic: The Gathering. Subsequent references in the same section can use Magic.
- As above, either form should be italicized (using two single quotes in wiki-markup) whenever the name of the game is used in a sentence.
- Set/expansion names
- Use italics when set names, like Legends, are mentioned in a sentence.
- In bullet lists or tables, use plain text, but italicize sets which are not yet released.
- Card names
- Use single quotes when card names are mentioned in a sentence, such as 'Black Lotus'.
- In bullet lists or tables, use plain text without single quotes.
- You can link card names to Gatherer by using this notation: displayed text. For example, [[Card:Prodigal Sorcerer|Tim]] makes Tim and [[Card:Serra Angel|Serra Angel]] produces Serra Angel.
