All images used on this site must provide an accompanying source. This should most usefully be the personal or corporate name of the owner. Material gathered from another website should indicate the URL of the original. Photographs or scanned images must note the creator of the image.
Card images
At the present time, individual official Magic: The Gathering card images should not be uploaded. Due to the potentially large volume of cards, this endeavour requires planning and would likely only be done through automated means. If you need to reference a card, use the linking mechanism [[Card:Serra Angel|Serra Angel]], which will make a link as Serra Angel. This policy currently applies only to official Magic cards, such as those released in expansions or base sets. Unofficial sets or special cards (Proposal) are allowed as long as other policies are followed.
Copyright status
All images must be accompanied by a statement of the copyright status granted by its source. These can quickly be marked by one of the following, were appropriate:

- Images licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution NonCommercial ShareAlike 2.5 License. This is the default license for the site, and should be used even if the uploader owns the copyright on the image.

- Images which are copyrighted by Wizards of the Coast.
- {{copyright}}
- Generic mark for other copyrighted material.
- {{public domain}}
- Images which have been released into the public domain, either explicitly by the source/owner or as a result of U.S. copyright law.
Deletion
Images found not complying with the measures of this policy are eligible to be deleted. The uploader should be notified of these requirements and be given a brief opportunity to provide missing information.
Users who repeatedly upload images without providing source and copyright status will likely have those privileges suspended.
